Spill, Baby, Spill

It's being reported that over 210,000 gallons of oil a day are leaking into the Gulf of Mexico and that the slick is coming ashore in Lousiana as we speak. There should be no partisanship in the attack on this environmental, ecological and soon to be econonomic disaster. It underscores the concerns that many of us have over offshore drilling. These spills, plus the destruction of the wetlands caused by the swath cut for the oil pipelines in Lousiana, are reason enough to shut down the platforms. I hope those words "Drill, Baby, Drill" stick in the throats of everyone that uttered them during the last presidential campaign.

The Not So Supreme Court

I find it very curious when the Supreme Court "takes up the fight" and hears a case regarding violence in video games. This month, eight our of nine justices, a strange name since that implies they are "just", decided that it was within the rights of some piece of human garbage to make films showing the torture and death of animals. How humane of them. Now, of course, they are worried about that harbinger of doom, the video game.

While I don't agree with censorship for the most part, when shows like "Ultimate Fighting" and "Police" become a part of national television, what's next?

Expecting to Fly

This is the first in what will hopefully be a long and glorious voyage into self expression and enlightenment via bloggitude. There are far too many stupid people voicing their opinions on sports, politics and life in general in the United States. I won't even begin to speak for the international contingent. They have their own fools to consider. But, we here in America, certainly have a preponderance. It seems the more stupid and ridiculous the person or statement, the greater the exposure. Note, Sarah Palin and the teabaggers.

The writers of this blog will be insightful, sometimes inciting, and will have a firm grasp of the obvious. If something looks like a duck and sounds like a duck, it probably is a duck. Be careful though, since in this country things are seldom what they seem.

Unlike other writers, we won't end sentences in freaking prepostions.

Happy reading. More to come.
